Terms of sale and license

These terms apply when you use or buy Sunbend. Sunbend is sold by Aloquence Technologies s.r.o., Luky 1115/25, 952 01 Vráble, Slovakia (VAT ID SK2121079785), “we”. Contact: hello@sunbend.app.

1. Plans and prices

You buy a license to use Sunbend, not ownership of the software. Plans:

Prices include VAT. The price shown at checkout is final. Payments are processed by Stripe; you receive a receipt by email.

2. One active computer

Each license can be active on one computer at a time. You can move it at any time by deactivating the old computer in Sunbend, or through the management page at pay.sunbend.app/manage using your purchase email. Do not share your license code.

3. Activation and online verification

Starting a trial and activating a license need an internet connection. Sunbend then verifies the license online at least every seven days, with one extra day of grace. If it cannot verify for longer, or the license has ended, color adjustments pause until it can. Restoring normal colors and quitting Sunbend always remain available, and your settings are kept.

4. Monthly subscriptions

A monthly subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. Cancel at any time on the management page; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for and are not charged again. Apart from the money-back guarantee below, we do not refund partial months.

5. Lifetime licenses

A lifetime license is a one-time purchase with no expiry for one active computer. It includes all future versions of Sunbend for Mac, and Windows and Linux versions if and when we release them. We do not promise that, or when, Windows or Linux versions will be released. Online verification under section 3 applies.

6. If Sunbend is discontinued

If we ever decide to stop operating the license service, we will first publish a final version of Sunbend that works for lifetime license holders without online license verification, and tell lifetime customers by email. Active monthly subscriptions will be cancelled without further charges.

7. 14-day money-back guarantee and right of withdrawal

You can get a full refund within 14 days of buying a lifetime license, or of the first payment of a monthly subscription, without giving a reason. Reply to your license email or write to hello@sunbend.app from your purchase email. We refund to your original payment method within 14 days of your request and deactivate the license. Later monthly renewals are not refunded, but you can cancel at any time.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you also have a legal right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of the contract without giving a reason. Our guarantee honours that right in full, and using Sunbend during those 14 days does not remove it. To withdraw, send us a clear statement, for example by email to hello@sunbend.app, before the 14 days end.

8. Distribution and updates

Sunbend is distributed directly from sunbend.app, not through the Mac App Store, and is not notarized by Apple, so macOS asks you to approve the first launch. Updates are offered inside Sunbend and are signed with our key; installing them is your choice.

9. Acceptable use

You may not resell, share or publish license codes, or remove, bypass or interfere with license verification. We may deactivate licenses used in breach of these terms or obtained through fraud or a reversed payment.

10. What Sunbend does

Sunbend adjusts your display's colors and brightness in software according to a schedule you control. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Pause it for color-critical work.

11. Warranty and liability

Your statutory rights as a consumer, including for defective digital content, are not affected. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss; our liability for any purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing limits liability for intent, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

12. Law and disputes

Slovak law applies. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring proceedings there. Please contact us first; we try to resolve every issue directly. Consumers can also turn to the Slovak Trade Inspection (Slovenská obchodná inšpekcia, soi.sk) for alternative dispute resolution.

13. Changes

We may update these terms for future purchases and will show the effective date here. Changes never reduce what you have already bought: the plan, price and lifetime commitments that applied at your purchase stay in force.
